Police Raid in Akwa Ibom Recovers Firearms and Drugs

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, under the direction of Commissioner of Police Baba Moham Azar, executed a successful intelligence-driven raid in known hotspots, including Okopedi and Abia Uduk Street in Eket. The operation led to the arrest of four male suspects: Paul Sundai, Nelson Ekpa, Akaninyen Valentin, and Idongesit Harrison.

During the raid, police recovered various tools typically used for the consumption of illicit substances, including several empty bottles associated with substance abuse and a quantity of crystal meth. Additionally, a swift response team apprehended suspects fleeing the scene, who discarded a yellow nylon bag containing two locally made pistols and two live cartridges.
