Police Arrest Four, Seize Firearms in Akwa Ibom Raids

On March 21, 2026, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command conducted intelligence-driven operations in Eket and Okopedi, leading to the arrest of four suspects: Paul Sundai, Nelson Ekpa, Akaninyen Valentin, and Idongesit Harrison. The raids targeted known criminal hotspots and were part of ongoing efforts to combat crime in the state.

During the operation at Okopedi around 7:45 PM, the suspects were found in possession of items intended for the consumption of illicit substances, including several empty bottles associated with substance abuse and a quantity of crystal meth. In a separate operation on Abia Uduk Street, police responded to reports of suspicious activity, resulting in a pursuit of fleeing suspects who abandoned a yellow nylon bag containing two locally made pistols and two live cartridges.

The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing. The police command has urged residents to provide timely information to support security efforts.
