Police Prevent Economic Disruption in Akwa Ibom Community

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command announced on Tuesday that it had foiled a plot aimed at disrupting economic activities in the Eastern Obolo Local Government Area. Police Commissioner Baba Azar stated that intelligence indicated the involvement of certain individuals, including traditional rulers, politicians, and youth leaders, in this significant threat to economic stability.

The police emphasized that the livelihoods of residents depend on a peaceful environment, which should not be jeopardized by actions driven by personal political interests. The command is closely monitoring the activities of the suspects and will act at the slightest indication of a breach of peace.

Azar warned against any attempts to sabotage economic operations or incite unrest in the area, reaffirming the police's readiness to identify, arrest, and prosecute offenders, regardless of their status. The police also called on parents, community leaders, and stakeholders to caution youths against participating in activities that could disrupt public order, warning of severe consequences.
