PSC Screens 121,596 Applicants in Nigeria Police Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that it has screened out 121,596 applicants from a total of 161,873 received in the ongoing recruitment process for the Nigeria Police Force. Dr.

Taiwo Lakanu, the chairman of the PSC, confirmed this during a news conference in Abuja. He noted that 434,604 applicants qualified for the next stage of the recruitment process, while 60,674 applications were deemed invalid.

The breakdown of applications shows that 348,974 were for general duties, 85,630 for specialist roles, and 442,592 were male applicants compared to 114,640 female applicants. Lakanu highlighted the significant disparity in application numbers across different states, with Adamawa recording the highest at 38,989 applications, followed by Benue with 34,511 and Kaduna with 30,397.

In contrast, Ebonyi had the lowest with 1,667 applications. The PSC plans to extend the application deadline by two weeks to encourage participation from states with lower turnout.
