PSC Prepares for 50,000 Police Recruitment Training

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has initiated a training session for its staff in preparation for a significant recruitment exercise aimed at adding 50,000 personnel to the Nigeria Police Force. The workshop, which opened on Tuesday, is designed to equip the commission's staff with the necessary skills and procedural knowledge to ensure a seamless and transparent execution of the federal government's directive.

PSC Chairman Hashimu Argungu, alongside retired Supreme Court Justice Paul Galumj, highlighted the training as a crucial step towards realizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision to strengthen internal security across the country. The PSC's commitment to transparency and professionalism was emphasized by Taiwo Lakanu, the chairman of the PSC's standing committee on the Nigeria Police Force.

The recruitment process, scheduled to begin on March 9, is expected to attract 434,604 qualified applicants vying for the 50,000 available slots, with a focus on ethical standards and legal compliance to maintain public trust.
