IGP Disu Receives New Police Regulations for Reform

On April 15, 2026, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu received newly gazetted regulations for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) during a formal handover ceremony in Abuja, led by Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Gaidam. The regulations are a critical step in bridging the gap between the Police Act of 2020 and the operational realities of modern policing in Nigeria.

Gaidam reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to deepening police reform, ensuring that the new regulations are enforced in alignment with national security priorities. He commended Gaidam's leadership and acknowledged the support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in driving the police reform process.
