Oyo Police Dismiss Terror Claims in Ogbomoso Video

The Oyo State Police Command has officially dismissed claims of a terrorist movement in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the circulation of a video and voice note on social media alleging the infiltration of suspected terrorists from the Lukarawa forest near the Old Oyo National Park. DSP Ayanlad Olayinka, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, emphasized that the claims are entirely false and lack factual basis.

The command reassured the public of their commitment to safety and security, stating that there is no credible intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists in the area. They urged residents, particularly in border communities, to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The command expressed concern over the spread of misinformation that could incite panic and disrupt public peace, warning that individuals spreading false information could face legal consequences.
