Police Rescue 15 Victims of Human Trafficking in Osun

On Thursday, the Osun State Police Command successfully rescued 15 young individuals who were victims of a human trafficking syndicate and arrested one suspect connected to the crime. The operation was conducted based on credible intelligence and led by the command's spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi.

The victims, who were reportedly deceived with false promises of better job opportunities in Nigeria, were transported from Togo and the Benin Republic and were found in a three-bedroom flat in the Adelek Estate area of Osogbo. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were kept in the flat under suspicious circumstances.

The rescued individuals include Mois Nanga (30), Myriam Yakouba (28), Rostand Joseph (29), Mouri Kassoko (26), Bicosso Nadia (22), Samoru Ilan Azot (20), Dori Samnat (23), Zogo Michel (25), Nebi Sera (21), Moeva Lour (23), Awa Asoka (25), Sonara Rene (26), Ella Cador (24), Odil Mapa (25), and Madji Sanni (22). The police are collaborating with relevant authorities to ensure the victims receive necessary care and protection while working towards family reunification.

The command has urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious recruitment activities.
