Ondo Police Arrest Human Traffickers, Rescue 14 Victims from Togo Syndicate

The Ondo State Police Command conducted a successful operation to combat human trafficking, arresting six suspects involved in a syndicate that lured victims from Togo to Nigeria with false promises of employment in Canada. The victims, including Togolese nationals, were forcibly held and extorted for money.

The suspects, identified as Cleud Grao Samuel, DSIWA Michael, Olayiwola Kazeem, Akinubi Adebayo Oluwol, and Umaru Baba, were allegedly part of a criminal network engaging in modern-day slavery. The police rescued 14 victims and are investigating further to dismantle the trafficking ring.

Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend additional suspects. The victims are being cared for and will be repatriated with the assistance of their respective embassies.
