Police Rescue Four Kidnap Victims in Edo State

The Edo State Police, with assistance from the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), local hunters, and other security agents, successfully rescued four kidnapping victims. The police spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, reported that armed men, approximately three in number and dressed in vigilante uniforms, had blocked the Ugbokun axis along the Lagos/Benin Expressway, attacking motorists and abducting some individuals into the forest.

Upon receiving this information, the Divisional Police Officer of the Okada Division mobilized a combined team of police operatives, vigilantes, local hunters, and other security partners to the scene. They conducted an aggressive bush-combing operation, enhanced by drone technology, to locate and rescue the victims.

Due to the pressure exerted on the criminals, they abandoned the captives and fled. The rescued victims, identified as Muritala Babatunde, Bello Aminat, Otor Prince, and Yeiyah Gift, have since been reunited with their families.

Ongoing operations aim to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
