Police Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims in Kogi State

On Friday, CP Kankarofi announced the rescue of nine kidnap victims in Kogi State during a “joint handshake patrol” at Aguda Village along the Okene–Auchi Expressway, which marks the boundary between Kogi and Edo States. The rescue was part of ongoing joint clearance operations that have been active for seven days, targeting the Mameramo–Adomu settlement along the Okene–Auchi road.

The operation involved an intelligence-led collaboration among the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Lugard, DSS, NSCDC, local vigilantes, and other auxiliary security forces from both states. Following their rescue, the victims were safely evacuated, debriefed, and reunited with their families.

CP Kankarofi emphasized that these operations are designed to assess operational deployments, vulnerable routes, and personnel readiness, aiming to deny criminals safe havens and enhance the safety of residents and travelers along the corridor.
