Police Rescue Five Abducted Students in Ogun State

On April 27, 2026, at approximately 10:55 PM, five students from Gateway Polytechnic in Ogun State were abducted in the Sapade area. The Ogun State Police Command, led by spokesperson Babaseyi Oluseyi, received a distress report prompting immediate action.

A police patrol team discovered an abandoned ash-colored Toyota vehicle riddled with bullet holes and bloodstains, which belonged to the victims. Following standard operational procedures, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered the deployment of a tactical unit for a rescue operation.

The operation, conducted in the Isara area, involved the Ipara Division SWAT, Anti-Kidnap Unit, and Quick Response Squad. The police engaged in a gun duel with the abductors, who fled due to superior firepower.

The five victims were safely rescued on April 28, 2026, and were evacuated for medical attention due to their condition after captivity. The police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
