Edo Police Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims from Abductors

The Edo State Police Command reported the successful rescue of five abducted passengers from a GUO bus along the Benin-Lagos Expressway, along with four other victims held captive in Imiegba Forest, Agenebod. The operation, which took place following a recent kidnapping incident, was confirmed by police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem in a statement released on Saturday.

The rescue was achieved through a massive deployment of tactical teams and intelligence assets, including aerial surveillance. The command emphasized that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to enhance security in the area and exert pressure on kidnappers.

All rescued victims received medical evaluation and treatment and were subsequently reunited with their families. Additionally, the police reassured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety along the Benin-Lagos Expressway and vowed to apprehend the perpetrators involved in the kidnappings.

This operation follows a violent incident where gunmen attacked a bus, killing the driver and abducting an unspecified number of passengers.
