Police Rescue Unconscious Man Under Drug Influence in Awka

On July 15, 2026, the Anambra State Police Command conducted a patrol in Awka, where they discovered an unidentified middle-aged man lying unconscious along Obi Okoli Avenue near the temporary site of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The victim showed no visible signs of injury or struggle, suggesting he may have been under the influence of hard drugs.

Following the discovery, the police immediately evacuated the man to a hospital in Awka, where he is currently receiving treatment. The police are conducting an ongoing search to identify the victim, utilizing a mobile phone found with him to trace his relatives.
