Adeyemi Claims Life Threatened Amid Legal Controversy

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, has publicly stated that his life is in danger due to alleged threats against him. In a telephone interview with Channel TV, Adeyemi expressed his readiness to appear publicly despite the risks, dismissing suggestions to hide.

He claims there have been several attempts on his life, although he did not provide specific details about those responsible. Adeyemi is currently embroiled in legal controversies, facing charges of forgery and impersonation, with the Nigeria Police Force set to arraign him in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The charges include eight offenses related to his operations at the purported agency. Amidst these legal challenges, a U.S. lobbying firm, Von Batten Montagu York, has announced plans to assist Adeyemi in seeking asylum in the United States and obtaining whistleblower protection.

This situation has drawn attention from senior members of the U.S. government and sparked calls for an independent investigation into the agency's activities.
