Super Falcons Focused on WAFCON Title Defense in Morocco

Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Super Falcons goalkeeper, emphasized that Nigeria must maintain focus as they prepare for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where they will defend their title. The tournament, featuring 16 teams for the first time, is set to run from July 26 to August 16, 2026.

Nnadozie, who arrived at the training camp in Casablanca, expressed confidence in the team's ability to extend their record to an 11th continental title while also qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The Super Falcons began their training camp on Monday, with head coach Justin Madugu and his technical crew fine-tuning tactics and building team chemistry.

The squad includes notable players such as Rasheedat Ajibade and Asisat Oshoala. Nigeria's first match in the tournament will be against Malawi on July 28, followed by matches against Zambia and Egypt.
