Gombe Police Rescue Abducted Victims, Recover AK-47 Rifles in Bandit Attack

The Gombe State Police Command successfully rescued three abducted victims and seized two AK-47 rifles after an attack by suspected bandits in Gombe. The incident occurred in Rahama Lambo Garin Galadima Village on January 24, 2026.

The attackers invaded the village, killing Tela Bello Ahmadu and abducting his two sons, Saleh Tela and Abdullahi Tela, along with three other residents. The police, led by DSP Buhari Abdullahi, swiftly responded to a distress call and engaged the suspects, resulting in the death of one suspect, Baayo Bayi.

The other suspects fled into the forest, leaving behind weapons and ammunition. The rescued victims were taken to the hospital for medical examination.

The Gombe State Police Command reassured residents of their commitment to security and urged continued support and credible information from the public.
