Police Rescue Two Kidnap Victims in Oyo State

On March 19, 2026, at 12:23 PM, the Oyo State Police Command successfully rescued two male victims who had been kidnapped during an attack at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) nursery site in Idi Ayunr, Oyo State. The victims were abducted while visiting the site to submit their annual cocoa seedlings for the 2026 planting season.

Olayinka Ayanlad, the police spokesperson, reported that a joint security team, including the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, local vigilantes, and the Amotekun Corps, swiftly responded to a distress call. They engaged the assailants and coordinated a pursuit that led to the successful rescue of the victims and the arrest of three suspects.

The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue. The police command reassured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property in the state and urged the public to remain calm and vigilant.
