Nigerian Police Win N2bn Asset Forfeiture Case

On May 14, 2026, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered a ruling that granted a permanent forfeiture order for assets valued at N2 billion. These assets are linked to a financial fraud case involving a staff member of the financial sector and Opeyemi Yetunde, under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/274/2026.

The Nigerian Police Force, represented by DCP Anthony Placid from the Public Relations Office, stated that the forfeited assets include bank accounts, digital wallets, vehicles, and real estate properties located across Lagos, Osun, Delta State, and the Federal Capital Territory. The principal suspect in the case is currently in remand at Suleja Correctional Custody, facing charges related to border fraud and money laundering.
