Osun Police Expose Cult Protest Plans, Warn Against Violence

The Osun State Police Command announced on Monday that it has uncovered a plan by a group of cultists to stage a protest in the state. This follows the violent aftermath of the killing of their leader, Oyeyemi Olalekan, known as “Emir.” Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi stated that Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura has advised the cult groups to abandon their planned demonstration, warning that the police will not tolerate any actions that disrupt public peace.

The police identified the group as the “Congress of Cultists,” allegedly linked to the Neo-Black Movement (Black Axe). The command issued a warning to any individuals or groups intending to cause chaos, emphasizing that security agencies will respond decisively to any threats to peace and security.

The police also encouraged individuals with grievances to seek lawful resolutions and cautioned against violence or reprisal attacks. A discreet investigation into the recent violence has reportedly yielded useful leads.
