Nigerian Police Warn #FreeNnamdiKanuNow Protesters Against March to Presidential Villa

The Nigerian Police Force has issued a stern warning to organizers of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest, cautioning against staging demonstrations near the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This warning follows a court order restraining protests near sensitive government sites.

The protest, championed by activist Omoyele Sowore and scheduled for October 20, demands the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The police emphasized citizens' right to peaceful protest within the limits of the law, warning of strict enforcement and potential arrests for defying the court order.
