Nigeria Police Obtain Court Order Restricting #FreeNnamdiKanu Protests

The Nigeria Police Force has secured a court order restricting protests calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The order specifies certain areas where protests can take place, including Aso Villa, the Supreme Court, the National Assembly, Eagle Square, and the Shehu Shagari Complex.

Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the court order during an interview on a political program. Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore was reportedly at the forefront of the #FreeNnamdiKanu protests.
