Portable Released After Week in Police Custody Amid Legal Troubles

Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, has regained his freedom after spending a week in police custody in Ota, Ogun State. The singer was arraigned in court on January 12 on multiple charges, including assault, theft, causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, and stealing a Mercedes Benz E300 valued at N12 million.

Despite initially denying bail, Portable was eventually released after a viral video captured the moment he was welcomed back by his associates. His manager, Babi Luv, celebrated his freedom on Instagram, thanking God for his grace and support throughout the ordeal.

This recent detention marks another legal issue for Portable, who has faced multiple arrests and charges since gaining fame in 2022, with reports indicating he has been arrested and remanded eight times across correctional facilities in Kwara, Ogun, and Lagos states.
