Portable Reveals Reasons for Targeting Davido and Others

Portable, a controversial street-hop artist, shared his reasons for frequently targeting prominent Afrobeats stars Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide in a video posted on his Instagram stories on August 28, 2026. He clarified that his jabs are not motivated by beef but stem from a desire to get closer to these artists.

Portable acknowledged their significant influence, noting that they utilize their global platforms to uplift younger and lesser-known acts. He contrasted the Afrobeats stars with Fuji musicians, specifically mentioning K1 De Ultimate (Kwam1), arguing that the latter do not do enough to support emerging artists within their genre.

This statement came shortly after criticism directed at the quartet for allegedly abandoning dancer Poco Lee, who is facing multiple charges in the United Kingdom. The video sparked online debate, with mixed reactions from fans.

Earlier, Portable was disqualified in a rematch against actor Charles Okocha at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, claiming he had dominated the bout before a scuffle occurred.
