Postecoglou mentioned that Tottenham failed to secure high-profile targets in 2024, including Pedro Neto, Bryan Mbeumo, Antoin Semenyo, and Marc Guehi, who later joined Chelsea and Manchester United.

Despite guiding Spurs to a fifth-place finish in his first season, ending a 17-year trophy drought, Postecoglou was sacked as the team slumped to 17th place. He highlighted the club's instability since Mauricio Pochettino's departure in 2019, with subsequent managerial changes affecting the team's performance.
