Jang Urges Politicians to Prioritize Integrity Over Power

On the occasion of his 80th birthday celebration, Senator Jonah Jang, the former governor of Plateau State, delivered a poignant message to Nigeria's political class in Jos. During the public presentation of his autobiography, “From Airman to Politics,” Jang warned that political power is fleeting, while character, faith, and service to humanity endure.

He reflected on his life, stating that the pursuit of power, fame, and wealth should not overshadow integrity and one's relationship with God. Jang encouraged politicians to focus on leaving a legacy of integrity rather than being consumed by political ambitions.

He also urged young Nigerians to embrace Christ, asserting that worldly success does not guarantee fulfillment. The autobiography was motivated by his son, Yakubu, who encouraged him to document his experiences.

Jang clarified that the book aims to provide an accurate account of his public life and address misconceptions about his decisions in office, rather than to settle scores. He expressed gratitude to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida for his role in shaping his public service career.
