Power Ministry Partners with Police to Secure Infrastructure

On Tuesday, Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe visited Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to discuss collaboration on protecting Nigeria's power infrastructure. Tegbe, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and the Ministry’s management team, emphasized the threat of vandalism to the power sector and called for increased surveillance of critical installations.

He commended the police's performance under IGP Disu's leadership. In response, IGP Disu expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to safeguarding national infrastructure, including power assets.

He proposed the establishment of a Task Force dedicated to the protection of power infrastructure and assured Tegbe of the police's full cooperation, recognizing the vulnerability of power sector assets and personnel. This engagement aligns with the Ministry's efforts to enhance the reliability of Nigeria's power supply through inter-agency collaboration, reflecting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
