Power Struggle Deepens in Katsina APC Amid Billboard Vandalism

Tensions within the Katsina APC have escalated following the questioning of two senior security aides of Governor Dikko Radda by the Nigeria Police Force at their headquarters in Abuja. The aides, Aide-de-Camp SP Abdulganiyu Bello and Chief Security Officer DSP Hassan Bello, were interrogated over the alleged destruction of campaign billboards displaying the images of Ibrahim Masari, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs.

The billboards reportedly featured President Tinubu and Masari prominently, while Governor Radda's image was either absent or less prominent. Police spokesman Anietie Iniedu stated that the aides were neither arrested nor detained, but their current whereabouts remain unclear.

Additionally, Aminu Sanda, a political group leader in Katsina, was arrested in connection with the incident. This situation has highlighted a deeper political divide within the Katsina APC, with factions emerging: one loyal to Governor Radda and another aligned with influential federal politicians, including Masari.

Governor Radda's allies were notably omitted from the recent Presidential Campaign Council list, further exacerbating the rift.
