PPFN Promotes Breastfeeding During World Breastfeeding Week

The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), through its Commercial Marketing Advisor Obinna Nwogu, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigerian mothers and families during the World Breastfeeding Week 2026, observed from August 1st to 7th. Nwogu stated that breastfeeding is crucial for improving child survival and maternal health.

The PPFN organized a series of events at its upgraded clinics in Abuja, Minna, Lagos, and Ibadan, aimed at empowering mothers and promoting infant health. Under the theme “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,” the PPFN provided expert guidance and practical support in a judgment-free environment.

Events included breastfeeding support sessions, clinic tours, free health screenings for mothers and babies, demonstrations of the PPFN E-Health App, and a social media challenge titled “My Commitment to Mothers.” These initiatives were designed to address the challenges Nigerian mothers face in achieving optimal breastfeeding practices.
