Abbas Urges Christians to Pray for Nigeria This Easter

Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House, called on Nigerian Christians to pray for peace and progress in the country as they celebrate Easter. In a message issued on Saturday through his Special Adviser on Media, Musa Krishi, Abbas congratulated Christians on successfully completing the Lenten season, which culminates in the celebration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He urged Christians to emulate Jesus, whom he described as the perfect role model, and to continue praying for Nigeria's administration under President Bola Tinubu, even beyond the Lenten period. Abbas highlighted the need for divine intervention in the socio-economic, political, and religious challenges facing the nation.

He noted that Easter symbolizes sacrifice, selflessness, and love, and called for Nigerians to imbibe these virtues to foster peace and stability across the country. He also stressed the importance of mutual respect among citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, and emphasized the need for unity during challenging times.

Abbas pointed out the coinciding of the 2026 Ramadan and Lent as a divine arrangement to promote unity among Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.
