Buni Calls for Prayers for Nigeria's Peace and Leadership

On Tuesday, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni urged Nigerian clerics to pray for the nation and its leadership, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This call was made during a meeting with 800 chief imams from various Friday mosques across the state, as stated by Mamman Moha, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor.

Buni highlighted the necessity of prayer against internal and external threats to peace, asserting that development cannot occur without peace. He reminded the religious leaders of the unfortunate experiences during the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency, which resulted in the deaths of millions and the displacement of many, stressing that Nigeria cannot afford to regress into such challenges.

He also mentioned that the second phase of the meeting would involve pastors from churches across the state, reinforcing the collaborative effort among religious leaders to support the federal government.
