Chelsea FC Faces Suspended Transfer Ban and Fine

Chelsea FC has received a suspended one-year transfer ban and a fine of £10.75 million following a ruling by the Premier League regarding historical breaches of regulations. The club was found to have made undisclosed payments to third-party agents between 2011 and 2018, which were not properly included in their financial submissions.

The Premier League imposed a nine-month academy transfer ban on Chelsea as part of the sanctions. The club, now under the ownership of Todd Boehly after the takeover from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in 2022, proactively self-reported the breaches and cooperated with the league, which mitigated the severity of the punishment.

Chelsea was charged by the Football Association with 74 alleged breaches of the governing body's rules, which were connected to the information shared with the league.
