Tinubu's Health Confirmed as He Works from Paris

The presidency has addressed and dismissed speculations concerning President Bola Tinubu's health while he is on a working vacation in Paris, France. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, stated that Tinubu is "hale and hearty" and does not need to be physically present in Abuja to fulfill his duties.

Onanuga highlighted that Tinubu has been meeting with investors, including facilitating a $7 billion deep-sea port project in Ogun Waterside, an initiative of the Ogun State Government. The presidency also noted that Tinubu is not the only African leader absent from the United Nations General Assembly in New York, mentioning South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The statement emphasized that Tinubu is entitled to his annual vacation and has delegated responsibilities to Vice President. He is expected to return to Nigeria this week to celebrate the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary and attend a movie premiere honoring MKO Abiola.
