Tinubu Appoints Major General Famadewa as Security Adviser

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Major General Adeyinka Famadewa (RTD) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security. This decision, communicated through a circular signed by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, acknowledges Famadewa's exceptional service and strategic expertise in Nigeria's national security architecture.

Major General Famadewa, who has a distinguished military intelligence career spanning three decades, previously served as the Principal Staff Officer at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) from 2015 to 2021. He played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria's modern intelligence coordination framework and establishing the Intelligence Fusion Centre.

Following his military retirement, he has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, contributing to strategic thought leadership in civil security. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Famadewa's wealth of experience will enhance the administration's efforts to achieve a safer Nigeria and improve homeland security coordination.
