Tinubu Appoints Famadewa as Special Adviser on Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Major General Adeyinka Famadewa (rtd) as the Special Adviser on Homeland Security. This decision was communicated through a circular signed by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointment recognizes Famadewa's extensive service record and expertise in strategic military intelligence, which spans three decades. His career includes significant contributions to Nigeria's national security architecture, particularly in counter-terrorism operations and internal security diplomacy.

The administration aims to strengthen internal security coordination, enhance intelligence-driven operations, and deepen inter-agency collaboration to effectively address emerging security threats across the country. Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, the Permanent Secretary of the Government, underscored the commitment of the Tinubu administration to safeguarding Nigeria's territorial integrity and national interests.
