Tinubu Arrives at APC Convention Amid Security Disruptions

President Bola Tinubu arrived at the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention at Eagle Square, Abuja, where the event commenced at 8:15 PM. The convention was attended by key figures including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abba.

However, the event was marred by significant disruptions as tight security measures were implemented. Journalists reported being barred and harassed by security personnel, who were heavily deployed around the venue.

Major access roads leading to Eagle Square were cordoned off, restricting movement and forcing accredited journalists to trek long distances to access the venue despite holding valid accreditation tags. Several journalists were reportedly turned back at checkpoints, with security personnel allegedly threatening to open fire on those attempting to gain entry.

Eventually, some journalists sought temporary shelter at the Nasarawa State Pavilion but were later driven away following verbal confrontations with party delegates.
