Tinubu Leads APC National Convention in Abuja

Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, arrived at Eagle Square, Abuja, at approximately 8:10 PM for the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention, which is expected to elect new national officers. The convention, themed "Unity, Progress, Consolidate, Renew Hope Agenda," marks the fourth national convention since the party's formation in 2013.

Notable attendees included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abba. The event began with delegates arriving from 9:00 AM, and the official opening ceremony commenced at 8:15 PM.

The convention is crucial for the APC as it seeks to consolidate its political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party has faced leadership changes, with Abdullahi Adamu resigning in July 2023 and Dr.

Abdullahi Ganduje serving as acting chairman until his resignation in June 2025. The convention is expected to produce a full slate of national officers, including the national chairman and deputy chairmen.
