Tinubu Launches Reconstruction of Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road

On Monday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially launched the reconstruction of the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road at the Idi Ayunre end in Ibadan, Oyo State. The event was attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, his deputy Salako Ademola, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

Governor Abiodun, representing President Tinubu, stated that the administration is dedicated to making roads in all 36 states motorable to alleviate hardship and enhance economic activities. The reconstruction project, which is being undertaken by JRB Construction Company, is scheduled for completion within 36 months.

The road has been in disrepair and serves as a crucial link between Oyo and Ogun states, benefiting numerous agrarian communities along its route. Minister of Works Dave Umahi described the project as a gift from President Tinubu to Oba Rashidi Ladoja, noting that it was approved in response to a request from the monarch rather than a motion in the Green Chamber.

Umahi also mentioned that while not all ongoing projects may be finished by 2027, they will be completed by 2031.
