Tinubu Nominates Taiwo Oyedele as Finance Minister

On Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominated Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance, succeeding Dori Anit Uzoka. This nomination was communicated through a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who will oversee the confirmation process.

Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State, is recognized as an economist and public policy expert, tasked with aiding in the overhaul of the administration's tax reform initiatives. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

Additionally, he has completed an executive education program at the London School of Economics and attended Yale University's Gordon Institute of Business Science and Harvard Kennedy School. With 22 years of experience at PwC, Oyedele rose to become the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.

He is also a professor at Babcock University and has served as a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
