President Tinubu to Depart Abuja for Rome to Address West Africa's Security Challenges

President Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja for Rome to attend the Aqaba Process meeting, which will bring together heads of state, government officials, and senior intelligence and military officers from African countries. The focus of the meeting is to discuss the security challenges facing West Africa, including terrorism, crime, and maritime piracy.

The Aqaba Process, initiated by King Abdullah II of Jordan in 2015, aims to counter terrorism through coordinated efforts and collaboration. President Tinubu will engage in bilateral talks with other leaders to explore strategies to address rising security challenges in the subregion.

He will be accompanied by key officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and the Nation Intelligence Agency (NIA).
