Igini: Bribed Electoral Officers May Escape Punishment

Former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Igini disclosed that presiding officers involved in accepting dollar bribes from politicians shortly after their training for the 2019 Nigerian general elections may not be punished. He made this revelation during a television interview on Wednesday, highlighting that the Electoral Act contains provisions that could potentially grant immunity to electoral officials, allowing misconduct to go unpunished.
