Petrol Prices Drop to ₦1,290 in Abuja and Ilorin

The price of petrol has seen a reduction at various filling stations in Abuja and Ilorin, with rates adjusted to between ₦1,290 and ₦1,330 per litre, marking a decrease of ₦35. This change was implemented by several outlets, including major players in the downstream sector such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Rano Oil, and Nipco.

Abubakar Maigandi, a representative of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, stated that the price adjustments were driven by market competition. Despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices, which saw West Texas Intermediate crude at $94 per barrel and Brent crude at $105 per barrel, fuel prices have remained relatively stable since April 9, 2026.

The new pricing strategy aims to attract customers and improve sales at filling stations across the Federal Capital Territory.
