Protesters Demand Cancellation of Lagos APC Primary Results

Protesters gathered at the Lagos APC secretariat to demand the cancellation of primary election results, citing allegations of irregularities. Aspirants such as Ayodel Adewal, who contested in the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, claimed serious procedural issues, including the absence of official membership registers during accreditation.

Adewal urged the appeal committee to investigate the accreditation process and nullify the election results. Similarly, David Doherti, an aspirant for the Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, reported a lack of transparency and alleged that armed men disrupted voting in Riverine Ward.

Protesters called for sanctions against those responsible for electoral malpractice. Hakeem Ola described the situation as an injustice against Doherti, while Oluwasola Olugbemi cautioned against imposing candidates against the wishes of party members.

The Lagos APC dismissed claims of harassment during the protest, asserting that the primary election process had concluded and that grievances would be addressed through internal mechanisms.
