Nigerian Delegation in UK to Discuss Ekweremadu's Jail Term Transfer

A Nigerian delegation, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Attorney General's office, visited the UK to discuss the potential transfer of Ekweremadu, a former Deputy Senate President serving a 9-year sentence for organ harvesting. Ekweremadu was convicted in March 2023 alongside his wife and others.

The visit aims to explore legal avenues, including a prison transfer agreement or compassionate release. The Nigerian government seeks to renegotiate Ekweremadu's imprisonment terms with the UK authorities.
