Edo State Hosts Ignatius Aigbokhaod Golf Tournament

The Ignatius Aigbokhaod Invitational Golf Tournament began on Wednesday in Edo State, attracting 250 professional and amateur golfers. The event, held in honor of Ignatius Aigbokhaod, a well-known figure in golf, is organized by the Benin Club Golf Section.

Andrew Momodu, the chairman of the organizing committee, described the tournament as a fitting tribute to Aigbokhaod, whose friendship and leadership have united players over the decades. The tournament spans four days, with events scheduled to feature men's handicap categories ranging from 0-12 and ladies' handicap categories from 1-18.

The grand final is set for Saturday, where prizes will be awarded to winners across various categories. The tournament includes participation from golfers from several clubs, including Ibori Golf Country Club, Sapel Athletic Golf Club, UBTH Golf Club, Ikoyi Golf Club, and others.

The event aims to blend high-level competition with camaraderie, celebrating Aigbokhaod's passion for golf and his impact on the sport.
