Proprietor Seeks FG’s Support For Education Colleges

Ralph Otobo Odoh, the proprietor of APA College Education in Benue State, is seeking the Federal Government's support for private initiatives in developing teacher education in Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of private colleges in bridging the gap in teacher training, especially in underserved areas.

Odoh highlighted the need for quality teaching and teacher training to ensure that learners can contribute meaningfully to national development. He also pointed out that government support for private institutions in the education sector has been limited.

Odoh stressed that teacher education should be a national priority to lay a solid foundation for the progress and prosperity of the nation. Additionally, he linked the rise in banditry, kidnapping, and violent crime to the failure to prioritize education.

Odoh commended the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Professor Paulinus Chijioke Okwelle, for his passion and commitment to the growth of teacher education in the country.
