Southern Kaduna Christians Call for Protection of Worship Centers After Abduction Crisis

Southern Kaduna Christians, led by Apostle Emmanuel Kure, are demanding urgent government intervention to protect worship centers in Kaduna State. This plea comes after the abduction of 166 worshippers, including women and children, during a church service in Kurmin Wali village, Kajuru Local Government Area.

The victims were seized by bandits, with eleven managing to escape but returning with injuries and trauma. The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders expressed concerns over the lack of visible action to rescue the remaining captives.

They highlighted the devastating impact of ransom demands on rural communities and urged the government to honor previous assurances and prevent further attacks. The community also emphasized the importance of maintaining security at places of worship for both Christians and Muslims.

Additionally, Dan Amo, a member of the House of Representatives, encouraged religious leaders to intensify prayers for peace and stability, especially with the upcoming 2027 elections.
