Kaduna Clerics Plead for Government Intervention Amid Rising Abductions

Kaduna clerics, led by Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Kure, have appealed to the government to urgently intervene in protecting places of worship in the state. The call for action comes after the abduction of 100 worshippers in the Kurmin Wali community in the Kajuru Local Government Area.

During the Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit held in Kafanchan, the clerics emphasized the need for immediate rescue of the abducted worshippers to prevent further emotional and psychological trauma. They also highlighted the challenges faced by rural dwellers, particularly farmers, in meeting the hefty ransom demands made by the abductors.

The clerics expressed concerns over the lack of visible progress in securing the release of the captives and urged the government to work closely with security agencies to prevent future attacks on worship centers. Apostle Kure reminded the Kaduna State government of its commitment to swift action and warned against delays that could worsen the suffering of the victims and undermine public confidence in security institutions.
