Federal College of Education Abeokuta Commends Nigerian Government for Concurrent NCE and Degree Programs

The Provost of the Federal College of Education in Abeokuta, Dr. Rafiu Soyel, praised the Nigerian government for allowing select colleges to run NCE and degree programs concurrently, emphasizing the cost-effectiveness and mutual benefits of the policy.

The institution, celebrating its 50th anniversary, has been commended for its operational efficiency and infrastructure capacity to run both programs effectively. The anniversary celebrations included a convocation lecture by Prof.

Josiah Ajiboy and a ceremony where Dr. Olatunji Alausa highlighted the policy's cost-effectiveness.

The college has also established partnerships with organizations like Pennsylvania University to enhance its educational offerings. Additionally, the institution aims to attract tourists through initiatives like the MKO Abiola Lake situated on its campus.

The Provost emphasized the importance of the dual mandate of running NCE and degree programs to meet the country's education policy goals.
