Kingsley Disagrees with Duke on Coastal Highway Project

Engr. Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley, the presidential aspirant of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the 2027 general elections, publicly disagreed with Donald Duke, the former Governor of Cross River State and current PRP presidential candidate recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), over comments made about the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.

In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, Kingsley asserted that political differences should not hinder the acknowledgment of government achievements. He criticized Duke's assertion that the project is a misplaced priority, emphasizing that opposition politics should focus on constructive criticism and viable alternatives.

Kingsley, who is contesting the May 25 primary election results that named Duke as the PRP’s presidential candidate, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for the highway project, citing its potential for enhancing national infrastructure and connectivity. He awaits a court judgment on his challenge, scheduled for November 2, 2026.
